An apple a day?

So, I went and saw my doctor yesterday. I’ve always had an issue with fatigue but the insomnia lately had me concerned. So after a nice long chat about things we came up with the following “tests”

1) I have to keep a food journal. He also told me to write how I’m feeling so I can find my “stress eating” triggers. This one is going to be difficult. I have a real problem with actually writing everything down.

2) I have to start working out in the mornings. He said the exercise could help me deal with stress during the day and not give me a reason to skip it at night. He did recognize that this would be the hardest change. Mainly, because I’m not sleeping at night so forcing myself up in the morning will be hard.

3) I have to have a consultation with a sleep specialist to figure out what might be going on.

I’m going to start all of these things tomorrow. Not that I want to put it off, but I have an event at work today and I don’t want to set myself up to fail. In the meantime, I have started looking at meal planning for the week, which I suck at, and seeing if I can play my meals and my workouts.

Can anyone suggest some good sites on healthy meals and snacks? Or sites with good tools/charts for meal planning? Also, if you are a member, join me on  Search for Plutogal
