So as a Sweat Pink Ambassador I was given the opportunity to be a Vega Sport blogger. Basically, Vega sport sent me samples to try, which is awesome! This is an all vegan, plant-based, endurance assistance.
About a year ago Jon and I made the decision to go vegetarian. Not long after that Jon declared he was going to also become an Ironman. In the last 6 months he has doubled his training and his food intake. Making sure we both get the right amount of protein, carbs, and sugar during training and racing has been a challenge.
So when Vega said I could try out the Vega sport Vanilla Protein Powder I was psyched. I went with a fresh raspberries, bananas, kale, vanilla almond milk, and the Vega Vanilla Protein Powder.
I thought it was pretty good. It had a weird taste but I found it wasn’t hard to get used to. I think I feel that way about most new powders!
The boy went with a larger version. He’s been bonking on his workouts lately and we’ve been really tweaking his nutrition, especially the recovery. So when he got in from his 60 mile bike ride it was perfect to test out!
He went with a frozen 4 berry mix, 2 frozen bananas, fresh blueberries, almond milk, and the vega protein powder.
However, he did not care for the smoothie. He says it tasted chalky. He is willing to give it another try because he likes the vegan aspect of the company.
