Lifestyle changes

I signed up for my first 70.3 how could there NOT be lifestyle changes? After a much too extended break from training, I’m back. However, my focus has been on trying to figure out my nutrition stuff. I wanted to find a way to correctly lose some weight that wouldn’t be hard to maintain while training. I did lots of research and even had a failed attempt with a local nutritionist.

I then stumbled upon a program through instagram. I loved the coaches mentality and style. After some additional research I signed up with her. It was a test group for 8 weeks instead of individual coaching. I’m in week 4 and it has been one of the best choices I’ve made this year!

She does a program on Metabolic Efficiency and based on Primal Blueprint. Also called Paleo 2.0.


The best part I’ve found with this, besides being easy to follow, is that I don’t have a problem staying on it. Yes, over the holiday I had sugar and carbs BUT instead of falling off the wagon and being dragged behind it, I got right back on. Normally, I would cheat and say “screw it” and keep cheating but not this time. I enjoyed some stuff and then got back on track.

I’m happy to say that I’ve lost 3lbs in 4 weeks and I’m feeling good. I’m learning how to listen to my body and really fuel it! My workouts are feeling good and I hope to keep the trend continuing.
