So my team had their first real brick workout this weekend. I was with the sprint group. We had a 10 mile bike ride and then a 1 mile run. Now this may not seem like a lot but I tell you my legs were like running through cement! I’ve been training in Naptown and there are very few hills but not at Rock Creek Park. Nope they has hills! I not only got to use some new gears on the bike but I also got to find my climbing legs. Then I did a surprisingly fast mile at 12 minutes, lol.
I’m slightly worried that I’m not going to be ready for this tri in June. I don’t feel like I’ve been training my hardest and that is going to hurt. I’ve got a little over 4 weeks to get my butt in gear! I’m hopeful I can build a little more endurance and power through this. My issue, I think, is that the bike was my weakest so I have been focusing on that. Instead, I now feel like I’ve lost in the run. Hopefully, I can pick back up my run and be all good.
Now, that 10K I have at the end of the month is going to be a hot mess!
