So, for the first time in a long time we are taking a vacation that doesn’t involve a race. This has been a foreign concept for us. However, we will be embarking on our first cruise!

Of course it is a Disney Cruise, couldn’t expect any different. We are currently in Florida. He had to work for 2 days and I’ve been tooling around. We will be heading to Orlando around lunch time today. So I am sitting in the hospital cafeteria doing the newsletter for work and killing time.

I’m also contemplating coffee. I’m not really thirsty, more bored but it would give me something else to do besides work. That is also the reason I’m writing this blog. I guess I can tell you about my adventure in St. Petersburg.

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo. Maybe I’m spoiled because at Disney or most cities hotel rooms are kinda nice. I mean this place is considered a “Boutique” hotel. They listed the bathroom as “spa type” so I was excited about this. UNTIL we walked it! The room was not very large but it was VERY green and had a giant rock mural on one wall. The AC didn’t really work well and right now in FL you walk outside and just burst into sweat, I SWEAR!

I decided to make the best of it and work on my fish extender gifts for the trip since I had been putting it off. While I was doing this I killed 4 BIG red ants. I think they were ants. I guess they could have been something else but I killed them without mercy since they crawled ON THE BED! I freaked. Then I didn’t want to be on the bed. Jon tells me I’m nuts but I told him they were giant fire, biting ants. I don’t know if this is a real thing but they were huge and should not have been in my bed! He never saw them and still thinks I made them up.

Then there was the “spa” bathroom. Which they would be right if the spa was a bathroom in an RV. This was the tiniest bathroom I think I have ever used. Expect for the one in the RV we had when I was a kid. I’m not sure what was spa about it. It had the same tile floor that my mom still has in her bathroom, and a square sink. I think they called it spa because it has a bamboo bench in the shower (others would call this a wooden seat). I actually asked Jon if we had yet again received the handicapped room. Again, he said I was crazy and that it was small but I was going to far into it. I told him I couldn’t go too far into it cause it wasn’t large enough. However, the closet was bigger than mine at home and you could walk further into it then the bathroom. I think someone messed up and put the bathroom where the closet was supposed to go.

Needless to say, we won’t be staying at the Hotel Indigo again and Jon has been stripped of his hotel selecting privileges from now on.

Hopeful to post more from our cruise and all that fun non-race stuff!! It will have pictures I promise.
